Trade Support Analyst
Responsibilities
ABOUT THE JOB:
The aim of Global Banking Technology & Operations (GBTO) Canada is to deliver day-to-day services to Société Générale investment and corporate bank units and their clients to accelerate their transformation. GBTO differentiates itself from competitors with the pace of the agile transformation delivered, spreading the technology and data culture, shortening the decision-making process, and adopting a true industrial approach, leveraging on different teams either transversal or aligned to the different sub business units.
Within Global Banking Technology and Operations (GBTO), the Trade Support Unit department of Operations, the service Trade Capture (Transaction Modeling) is responsible for booking transactions in the information systems under the direction of the Front Office. The Control team is responsible for controlling trading activities across multiple Fixed income trading desks, including Rates, FX, Financing, Treasury and Credit.
What will be your DAY-TO-DAY?
In coordination with the Front Office and all support functions (Middle-Office, Back-Office, Risk, IT, etc.), the Control team is responsible for the following missions:
- Managing trace (FINRA platform) & GSCC matching and setup
- Enforcing controls designed to make sure that executed trades are booked promptly and accurately.
- Trade maintenance: monitoring STP flows, resolving breaks, and Quality control of trading.
- Processing Lifecyle events
- Performing some reconciliations across different systems.
- Responsible for certain regulatory checks such as Trace reporting and Reg W controls
- Reviewing position controls; FO to BO reports
- Ensure consistency of process with global TSU counterparts
- Keeping all procedure manuals current and up to date
- Responding to requests from Audit and Inspection teams
- Liaising between Front Office, Back Office, Product Control Group, IT teams globally
- Testing of system upgrades/enhancements
- Handling Ad Hoc requests from traders and salespersons
Profile required
Skills and Qualifications:
Must Have:
- Bachelor’s Degree with a major in finance or financial markets.
- Experience in financial markets is needed, to master the financial products and the processes; Ideally supporting Fixed Income trading desks – Bonds & IRD.
- Working knowledge of Excel, VBA, and financial mathematics.
- Understanding of Interest rate swaps, TRS, CDS and relevant clearing workflows.
- Good understanding of US Treasuries and Bond settlements.
- Bilingualism (ENG/FRE) is considered an asset.
- Good inter-personal and partnering skills, a “team-player.”
- Demonstrate initiatives, solutions oriented.
- Ability to prioritize and work in a dynamic, deadline-focused environment.
Languages: French and English
Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is a requirement as the person in this position will need to collaborate regularly with colleagues and partners in the United States.
