Responsibilities

ABOUT THE JOB:

Global Banking Technology & Operations (GBTO) delivers day-to-day services to Global Banking & Investor Solutions (GBIS) Business Units and their clients.  With IT & Operations teams working side by side under the same leadership, the goal of GBTO is to meet the evolving needs of its clients and market requirements, as well as anticipate technological advances to accelerate and support the transformation of GBIS activities. GBTO is at the very heart of this technological and operational challenge.

The Loan Servicing Group oversees the booking and administration of the loans for Société Générale New York branch. The department comprises two main groups: the Closers responsible for setting up the deal in the bank’s system (LIQ), and the Servicers who manage the loan administration (notices, funding, interests & fees).

What will be your DAY-TO-DAY? 

  • Agency Role- Borrower and Lending group facing servicing activity.
  • Review, verify, and authorize daily loan transactions.
  • Perform analysis and reconciliation of fee and interest accruals.
  • Handle booking loans including Commercial Paper, Non-performing and Direct/Agented facilities.
  • Prepare notices of activities to fax to all participants/customers for loan confirmation.
  • Prepare/review loan forms related to booking of new borrowings, increases, rollovers, pay-downs, commitment reductions, etc., prior to obtaining loan officer approval signatures.
  • Take responsibility for the daily transfer of loan proceeds.
  • Prepare interest and fee billings on all direct/agented loans, bill the customers, and send pro-rata shares to the participants.
  • Handle booking of risk participation sold.
  • Process interest, commitment fees and investigate discrepancies when necessary.
  • Handle preparation/posting of GL entries as required.
  • Review various system generated reports to ensure proper monitoring of the facilities.
  • Reconciliation of Open Cash, Suspense and Past due processing.

Profile required

Skills and Qualifications:

Must Have: 

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years prior experience in Commercial Lending using the LoanIQ application. 
  • Agency servicing experience. 
  • Demonstrated exposure in supporting variety of portfolios (both as Agent and Participation). 
  • Knowledge of Financial Products (Especially Loans, Guarantee and Stand by Letter of Credit etc.).
  • Knowledge of loan products, principles of cash payments in USD and foreign currencies.
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel. 
  • Strong analytical and reconciliation skills. 
  • Attention to detail and accuracy. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to work independently. 
  • Strong time management/organizational skills.

Nice to Have:

  • International banking experience.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or related discipline.

 

Languages: English, French

 Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is a requirement as the person in this position will need to collaborate regularly with colleagues and partners in the United States.
