ABOUT THE JOB:

Global Banking Technology & Operations (GBTO) delivers day-to-day services to Global Banking & Investor Solutions (GBIS) Business Units and their clients.  With IT & Operations teams working side by side under the same leadership, the goal of GBTO is to meet the evolving needs of its clients and market requirements, as well as anticipate technological advances to accelerate and support the transformation of GBIS activities. GBTO is at the very heart of this technological and operational challenge.

This is a central and dynamic position as you will provide technical and functional support for the structured finance applications that are used by senior bankers, as well as risk and operations analysts in New York. Great communication, social skills, and knowledge of ITIL best practices are essential as you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining these applications.

We are looking for a fast learner motivated professional who will help us manage the user communication. What will be your DAY-TO-DAY?

When you open your laptop, you’ll do a morning check to make sure production is stable before the financial markets open.

During the day you will maintain the user’s ticket backlog using Unity. You can also be contacted directly by users for live production incidents where you will need to use your problem-solving skills to troubleshoot the applications.

Be ready to learn the key Production Support practices and get financial expertise with experienced professionals.

You will perform the end of day checks to ensure the Production is stable before Asian markets open.

Some of your responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:  

  • Review and provide timely resolution of functional and technical issues and report incidents to the appropriate chain of command.  End users are Sales, Traders, Front, Middle and Back Office.
  • Respond to end users within timeframe dictated by the severity of the problem, document, and track (case histories, issues, and action steps).
  • Ensure timely reporting of production status to client and IT management.
  • Partner with support teams (NY/Bangalore/Paris) on release management.
  • Manage the Client Relationship with the end user community in an effective manner. 
  • Communicate with users regarding application outages and upcoming events such as a release, a project, etc. 
  • Understand the regulatory environment and constraints. 
  • Ensure disaster recovery plans are documented and tested at least two times per year. 

In addition to your daily responsibilities, you will get the opportunity to step up and take your technology and functional expertise to the next level by dedicating time to work on the feature team backlog or automation. As necessary and depending on your capabilities, you may be asked to contribute to the software development processes such as testing, bug fixing, deploying, and configuring new features.

Profile required

Skills and Qualifications:

Must Have: 

  • Experience in SQL.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex technical and functional issues.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent job experience.

Nice to Have:

  • At least 5 years of experience in an Application Support position.
  • ITIL certification.
  • Track record of delivering continual improvements and automations.
  • Knowledge of structured finance domain.

Languages: English, French

Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is a requirement as the person in this position will need to collaborate regularly with colleagues and partners in the United States.
